Smooth Sofa For Tarmeko

The Estonian embassy in Denmark has introduced me to a wide range of furniture producers in Estonia and I have got the chance to meet extraordinary specialists in e.g. glass, textiles, plates, and woodwork. One of them, Tarmeko (tarmeko.ee), has produced furnitures for more than 50 years and is specialized in upholstery. Tarmeko develops a new brand and product line combining high quality, Danish design, and competitive prices – and they have invited me in a design partnership on this journey. The Smooth and Curve sofas are our first products, already on the market in France and Germany. I look forward to continuing this collaboration.

A true craft, where the quality shown is as crucial as the design. I wanted to create a light and easy look by lifting the upholstery with a wooden frame, which in return creates a shadow around the sofa. Furthermore, I wanted the frame to bring the upholstery to focus. The contrast between the frame and the cushioning gives the sofa a smooth look accompanied with extended horizontal lines, which altogether is a nice addition to Your room.
