Hwam 3700
For Henrik Sørig Thomsen and myself, designing wood-burning stoves for HWAM is a continuous process of eliminating all superfluous lines and features in order to arrive at a clean, calm design expression so the fire itself can take centre stage. One of the key developments in the 3700 Series is that the top plate has been integrated into the overall form. At the top of the stove, we have also added a convection groove that underscores the sleek form and completes the stylish expression. In the design process we aimed for a clear-cut, sleek shape with the appearance of a column. This traditional architectural form is easy to position in a room and contributes positively to the space around it. The handle is designed as an integrated part of the slender column and fuses seamlessly with the object. We always aim to draw simple lines that result in a calm expression. In our humble opinion, the 3700 Series achieves that goal.
